Love you guys so much. Today was my OFFICIAL last day at Starbucks, I could dance forever, but I won’t cos that would really cut into the time that it takes to draw comics and you know…eat and live and stuff.
But just know the sentiment is there!!! I’m gonna be out of town next weekend but I will try to get as many strips up as possible until then (also the next batch of valentines cards which I’m SO GLAD you liked the first batch!!) and then we’ll figure out what we’re gonna do for the guest strips that I sort of mentioned on my DA.

Oh dear, I’m having a hard time dregding up the amount of enthusiasm this strip deserves. That’s what happens when you spend half the night dancing like a maniac. guuuuuh, so tired. I’ll look at it tomorrow and gush properly, for now, sleep.
Even if the story wasn’t as amazing as it is, I would read this just for the absolutely amazing art. And maybe just for “…”. Congrats on the full-time leap!

I already knew that I loved Dotty, but I think I love him even more now.
So, am I the only one that thinks, instead of the crane having been sent by Hanna, instead the crane represents Hanna directly? Okay, here's my reasoning:
1) Obviously, he just called for Hanna and then the crane arrived. Also, the crane comes flying in at around the same time that I'm thinking Hanna's got to be impacting out in the real world, haha.
2) IIRC, paper cranes represent something like hope? And if Hanna isn't just -made- out of spunk and hope and sparkles…
3) The part of this idea that sold me, however, is that the crane is tiny, fragile, and featherlight. And as we all know, so is Hanna.
Oooorrrr, the crane could represent, like, normal paper crane stuff. Ahaha XP

I thought about that one two, but not so many reasons behind it. Just because of how small and fragile Hanna is, and considering how the rest of his mind seems to work, he might see him as something odd/wonderful like a small and fragile crane.
If that’s the case… I wonder how he sees Conrad…
I just got linked to this comic today and read through the archives, and have to say there is not one part of it that I don’t utterly enjoy. From the writing and characters to the style and design, it’s all quite brilliant.
Also I see you’re going to be at A-Kon, so unless my plans fail and/or my memory leaks like a sieve I’ll have to stop by your table and… idk, say hi or something. Maybe even make you work for my amusement on the promise of monetary gain.
The crane is rendered so nicely, it’s very pretty. This part sort of reminds me of when he caught that moth back in the beginning of chapter one. Now I’m curious if the crane is something from his life, or something from Hanna. I can’t wait to see how all this turns out…and I hope there’s some bromantic love in the end haha.
I keep wondering that, too – if the crane is something internal, a little bit of Zombie’s subconscious or mermory that’s helping him out, or if it’s something sent from the outside. It would make sense if the paper crane were connected to something significant in his life before death . . . so excited to see how it plays out!
I’m curious to see if he’s going to unfold that paper crane… If it’s his unconscious, it might have things to say.
oh, that’d be cool! If it unfolded and had some sort of message . . . It hadn’t even occured to me that, duh, it’s paper – it could have writing or an image on it.

Panel 4 reminds me of a Natty Gann era John Cusack… you know, back when he was pretty. ^^; Mainly the hair and nose, but I seem to remember Cusack having Asian-esque eyes, too.

I love this page; there’s just something about it from the soft colors in the last panel just to Zombie holding the little paper Crane or letting him roost momentarily on his shoulder. Makes me smile in a different way from all the pages before now; it’s nice.
